Gero-Psychiatry Program

We offer inpatient psychiatric treatment for elder adults who are 65 and up (with some exceptions). We provide comprehensive assessment, short-term, intensive treatment and discharge planning services to older adults with a variety of acute emotional health problems.  The patients we serve may come to the hospital voluntarily or they may be on involuntary holds, as we do have LPS designation.

A treatment team is provided to each patient who is admitted to the hospital.  Each team includes a Psychiatrist, Nurse, Care Manager and Therapist.  With the involvment and input from the patient, a treatment plan is developed so that the individual needs of each patient are addressed.  Progress is reviewed daily with each patient and their assigned treatment team during the rounds with the Physician.
